Chocolate Chip Cookies
I know I've promised the chocolate chip cookie recipe, so here goes! <br><br> 2 cups + 2 tablespoons flour<br> 1/2 teaspoon baking soda<br> 1/2 teaspoon salt<br> 1 1/2 stick (170 gr) butter, melted<br> 1 cup packed (200 gr) dark brown sugar<br> 1/2 cup (100 gr) white sugar<br> 1 egg + 1 yolk<br> 2 teaspoons vanilla<br> 2 cups chocolate chips<br><br> The secret to the ooey gooey chocolate chip cookies is in the chocolate chips. Those guys not not pay me for plugging their product, but the absolute best chips to use are Ghirardelli 60% bittersweet baking chips. They are huge and dark and melt beautifully. <br><br> Preheat oven to 325F (160C). <br>Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. <br> With a mixer, mix butter, both sugars and salt. Whip in the egg, yolk and vanilla.<br> Gently mix in flour and soda (do not overmix).<br> Add chocolate chips.<br><br> Using a 2 inch spring loaded ice cream scoop, scoop cookie dough onto sheets, placing at least 2 inches apart (cookies spread considerably).<br> Bake 15-18 min. They should still be very soft in the center. Do not overbake as the cookies will be crispy rather than soft. Cool on rack.
