ingredients

  • 1 stalk green onion
  • 1 tsp chopped chives
  • 1 cup fresh soft ricotta
  • 1 ounce turnip
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 12 slice prosciutto

Method

  • Step 1

    Peel the turnips and steam for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool to room temperature.

  • Step 2

    Finely chop the green onion.

  • Step 3

    Mix the ricotta, chopped green onion, chives, black pepper, and onion powder in a small bowl.

  • Step 4

    Mix the mashed turnips into the cheese mixture and add salt.

  • Step 5

    Cut the prosciutto in half.

  • Step 6

    Place about 3 teaspoons of the mixture at the short end of the prosciutto.

  • Step 7

    Roll up like a cigar and secure with a toothpick.

  • Step 8

    Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Step 9

    Serve together with your favorite bottle of rosé wine.
