Sesame-Garlic Baby Bok Choy

ingredients

  • 1 baby bok choy
  • 3 slivered large garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • hot pepper flakes, To taste
  • Salt, To taste
  • Sesame seeds (black or white or both), to taste, for garnish

Method

  • Step 1

    Wash bok choy well. They can be quite sandy/dirty! If baby bok choy are on the larger side, you can slice them in half lengthwise.

  • Step 2

    In a large skillet with a top, add slivered garlic, olive oil, sesame oil, water, and hot pepper flakes and salt to taste. Add baby bok choy in a single layer if possible. Cover skillet and let steam on medium-high heat for 9-12 minutes until fork tender, gently flipping halfway through for even cooking.

  • Step 3

    Serve bok choy and slivered garlic pieces with a slotted spoon to drain off extra liquid. Garnish with sesame seeds.
