Pear Butter

"Simple, easy to make, and oh so delicious. This fruit butter is so tasty that I can’t wait to eat more especially when it gets colder out, the warm spices and the sweet smooth taste pairs perfectly with a hot buttery piece of bread."

ingredients

  • 8 cups diced Pear
  • 1/2 cups Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cups Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoons Allspice

Method

  • Step 1

On a large cutting board dice up all of your pears.

  • Step 2

Then in an instant pot on the sauté setting add in all of your pears as well as your apple cider vinegar, water, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.

  • Step 3

Mix everything and bring it to a simmer.

  • Step 4

Once simmering cover with the lid and pressure cook for the next 15 - 20 minutes.

  • Step 5

After the 15 – 20 minutes your pears should be very soft and tender, ladle out your pear mixture into a blender.

  • Step 6

Blend until smooth or you can blend ¾ of the mixture for some slightly chunky pear butter. (Or if you have an immersion blender you can use that directly in the instant pot and blend until your desired smoothness.)

  • Step 7

If you used the blender pour the mixture back into the instant pot.

  • Step 8

Continue to sauté the pear butter until it’s a dark amber color and is jam-y, stirring every 3-5 minutes for the next 15 - 20 minutes.

  • Step 9

Once your pear butter is done, portion the butter into glass mason jars or a glass airtight container.

  • Step 10

Let the pear butter jars cool completely before storing them in the fridge.
