Lavender Vanilla Cream Brioche Doughnuts
I remember waking up most Saturday mornings to the smell of mom making her old fashioned doughnuts. I'm certain the smell wafted out of our kitchen and down the old country road, because our neighbours would be knocking on our door by 10am! Doughnuts were also something I was afraid to make on my own. They looked so difficult... But one day last year I broke out my large @lodgecastiron skillet to fry my first batch, and I have never looked back since! It is so satisfying to watch those circles plump up as soon as they hit the oil. If there's anything I've learned in the last few years when it comes to baking, it's "never back down from a challenge"!
